Winners SPRINT to the finish

Races are won or lost at the finish line!

The great races, the ones worth running, in sports and in business have always had spectacular finishes.  When was the last time you heard heroic praises for a marathon runner who stopped running at the 24 mile mark and walked the rest of the way because he was tired?  Or a football team who sat on the bench the 4th quarter because they were a little beat up?  Or a gymnast decide take it easy and sit out her final routine?... You get the idea.

So why is it that so many people who are dependent on personal production for a commission paycheck seem to "check-out" at the end of the year??


It never fails to amaze me how many people seem to give up the last 40 days of the year as a lost cause for business.  At least the mediocre ones do..  And by mediocre I mean when compared to their own potential.  Are you mediocre?
 
In my 15 years on the mortgage industry I can tell you that almost without fail my biggest months each year are in December and January:  December because I sprint to the finish line, and January because of the momentum I created when others had clocked out.

Never a Better Time! 2012 still a Question Mark..

Equipment finance industry confidence improves in November

Washington, DC – The Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation (the Foundation) releases the November 2011 Monthly Confidence Index for the Equipment Finance Industry (MCI-EFI) today. Designed to collect leadership data, the index reports a qualitative assessment of both the prevailing business conditions and expectations for the future as reported by key executives from the $628 billion equipment finance sector. Overall, confidence in the equipment finance market is 57.4, up from the October index of 50.7, indicating an increase in optimism about business activity despite ongoing concerns about the global economic situation.

When asked about the outlook for the future, survey respondent Thomas Jaschik, President, BB&T Equipment Finance, said, “For 2011 the industry is doing surprisingly well given the lackluster U.S. economy. The strong 2011 results for the industry can be attributed to historically low interest rates and the availability of 100 percent bonus depreciation. Whether this momentum can be sustained in 2012 is still a question mark.”

What CAN'T We Do?

We've been seeing a lot of equipment finance applications - just wanted to let you know what's happening in case you may have opportunities you're not aware of.


Just yesterday I got an application for a $4.1 million boat, and a $65,000 truck/rig which is in process and which I expect an approval on today. Within the last few days I've gotten applications for solid waste disposal containers, a plane, oil "fishing" equipment (for clearing out the shafts), cattle processing equipment, air conditioners and generators, and sound equipment.
Several of these will get done, a few will not due to credit reasons, not the equipment type.
The range of equipment you can finance with this program is very broad, and the money to be made by brokering the deals is very good - plus has the added benefit of no disclosure of your income.




We're also approaching closing on an IHop restaurant building, a multi-family project, a retail strip center, and an industrial single-tenant property, on the mortgage side.
